If you want to experience more than one hundred percent breathtaking paradise, the Hundred Islands National Park is the most recommended place for you. This tourist site is truly devastatingly awesome making you feel like an explorer ready to discover the mystery and abundant beauty of each island.
The Hundred Islands National Park is a masterpiece of nature made up of one hundred twenty four islets surrounded by coral gardens and pearly white sand beaches. It is situated within the boundary of Alaminos, Pangasinan in the northern part of the Philippines. These islands are found scattered along Lingayen Gulf and they vary in shapes and sizes, each having its own unique contribution to the beauty of Mother Nature.
Having picturesque views of its sparkling blue sea that forms kaleidoscope of the sun’s spectrum as it touches the pristine water, Hundred Islands National Park is a perfect haven for two thousand species of colorful tropical fishes and amazing coral gardens. It is considered as the finest place for swimming, snorkeling, fishing and diving. As cited from reports, it is also hailed by National Committee on Geographical Sciences last Sept. 2001, as a "national geological monument" due to its special characteristics, scientific importance, uniqueness, and premier scenic value.
This natural sea paradise is accessible from Lingayen, Sual and Alaminos in Pangasinan. There are public bus lines such as Victory Liner, Five Star, and Philippine Rabbit that have regular scheduled rides from Manila, Subic and Zambales bound to Baguio, Dagupan, and Tarlac that passed by Alaminos City, Sual and Lingayen. The most common drop-off point is Alaminos bus terminal. From there, you can ride on tricycle that is bound to Lucap Wharf which is about 10 to 15 minutes drive. There are boats bound for the islands that are docked near the Wharf. Other options are to proceed to Sual, Pangasinan or Lingayen and take ferry boats bound for Hundred Islands.
Time consumed in going to the islands varies depending on what island you would like to visit first and from where you came from. However, roaming around the whole area is worthy for island hoppers. Usually, if you choose the Alaminos route, Sulpot Island, Abad Santos Island, Monkey Island, and Hernandez Island will be your first island destinations because they are the most accessible islands from the Wharf which will consume approximately 15 to 20 minutes travel time. Most visited islands like the Children's Island, Governor's Island, and Quezon Island, which are also the most developed islands with complete facilities can be reached at about 25 to 45 minutes travel time.
